Your home is your safe space, but sometimes you can still feel a bit down while you’re home. Maybe you can’t afford a nice vacation or getaway right now because your schedule is too busy. Whatever your case may be, this post will go over some home ideas that will support you during your downtime and provide you with your own little at-home retreat.
Make a “Cozy Corner”
If you’re running out of space in your home, find a nice corner in your house where you can put your favorite chair or spread out a bunch of pillows. This space can be where you read, nap, or take a break. When you see this space, you want to feel like you want to spend some time in it. You can add plants, candles, art, or other small trinkets that appeal to you.
Create an Empowering Playlist
Use your favorite music streaming app to compile uplifting, feel-good, energizing music. Find songs that affirm your greatness and leave you feeling like you’re on top of the world. You can also have a little dance party if you feel compelled to. You’ll literally be able to dance like no one is watching!
Love Letters
Many people still write letters to each other, but have you thought of writing yourself your own love letter? Take some time (maybe while you’re in your cozy corner) and write out a letter of appreciation for yourself. Think of things you’d thank your mind, body, and spirit for and pour love and appreciation back into yourself when you need it.
Book Buddy
Perhaps you have some time during the pandemic to read some books. This is great, but you can learn more about a book when you share and discuss it with others. Get some friends together and start your own little book club. You can read some self-development books together and pick a time to meet up at your house to discuss things you’ve learned in your reading.
Make Moves
It’s easy to make excuses as to why you can’t do something, so maybe you start looking for ways that you can do something. Don’t want to go to the gym because it’s too far? Perhaps you participate in online workout videos instead. If you don’t have any gym equipment, there are still many videos that only use your body weight to get a proper workout. If you have kids, have them join you!
